Handmade valentines to be delivered to various organizations around the region

Waterford, PA – February 12, 2018 – Over the past month, WCTL, Erie’s local Christian radio station, held its 4th Annual Healing Hearts Project for Valentine’s Day. During this time, WCTL asked people of all ages to get involved and get creative! Scout troops, schools, Sunday school classes, pre-schools, youth groups, and more, came together and made valentines. The station also held a Healing Hearts Day at the Millcreek Mall, inviting shoppers to stop and make valentines for the campaign.

“The Healing Hearts Project is one of the ways we like to tangibly reach out to those who may be forgotten,” WCTL General Manager Adam Q. Frase said. “It’s also a way to partner with the community to show the love of Jesus.”

Dozens of families and organizations partnered with WCTL this year, to the tune of more than 9200 handmade valentines (and counting). That number more than doubled last year’s total and is nearly eight times more than was collected during its debut year in 2015.

“We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from our listeners and the community,” Frase added.

WCTL will deliver valentines to nursing facilities, senior centers, and other organizations serving people in need in Erie and Crawford Counties.
